Responsibilities

  • Design and implement object-oriented control algorithms for thermal systems, including flow, temperature, and pressure regulation.
  • Architect modular and reusable control frameworks scalable across product variants.
  • Develop control software for embedded Linux and microcontroller-based real-time systems.
  • Model and integrate sensors, actuators, plant dynamics, and other physical system behavior into software.
  • Define system interfaces and control strategies with mechanical, electrical, and firmware teams.
  • Implement fault handling, diagnostics, safe-state behavior, performance tuning, and resource-constrained operation.
  • Develop near-real-time control algorithms and device communications using industrial and serial protocols.
  • Perform design, programming, debugging, peer review, unit testing, bench testing, system integration testing, and field test support.
  • Support hardware development and testing, system validation, and field issue root-cause analysis.
  • Provide effective team participation and technical leadership as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience developing embedded control systems.
  • Strong proficiency in C and C++ with object-oriented design.
  • Experience developing software for embedded Linux and/or RTOS-based systems.
  • Understanding of control theory fundamentals, including PID, feedforward, and system stability.
  • Ability to design maintainable, abstracted control architectures and abstract analog and digital I/O interactions.
  • Experience with near-real-time control algorithms, distributed control architectures, and device communications.
  • Preferred experience with HVAC, thermal systems, fluid control, model-based design, simulation, system identification, multi-rate control systems, real-time scheduling, HIL testing, or system validation frameworks.
  • Knowledge of industrial communication protocols such as Modbus and CAN.
