Responsibilities
- Lead analysis and review of software requirements for clarity, completeness, and testability.
- Design, document, maintain, and execute advanced manual and automated test cases and test plans.
- Document test results, identify and track complex defects, and drive issues through resolution.
- Lead configuration management and support software development lifecycle quality processes.
- Mentor and train team members in quality assurance methodologies and best practices.
- Collaborate with developers, product managers, project managers, technical leads, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
- Drive continuous improvement of quality assurance processes and methodologies.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or qualifying equivalent experience.
- 8+ years of experience as a software quality engineer or in a related field; 12 years of related experience may substitute when no degree is held.
- Experience with software development lifecycle models, software verification, testing techniques, test environments, bug tracking, and requirements tracking tools.
- Experience reviewing requirements and participating in compliance assessments or audits.
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve quality issues.
- Experience with common programming languages, basic networking, servers, network storage devices, and computers.
- Preferred experience includes subcontractor interaction, varied development environments, government or regulated-industry software projects, AS9100, AS9115, ISO 9001, CMMI, and ISTQB Advanced Level Certification or equivalent.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and experience in a senior software quality assurance lead role are preferred.
