Base Salary
$197k - $243k/yr
Responsibilities
- Architect, design, implement, and operate ledger services that record every movement of value on Roblox.
- Build idempotent and exactly-once write paths and reconciliation processes that prove the books balance.
- Own read paths for balances, history, analytics, and other views derived from the ledger’s source of truth.
- Identify and address correctness, performance, auditability, and operational risks in distributed financial systems.
- Collaborate with Finance, product, and economy engineering teams while mentoring junior engineers and maintaining high standards for code quality and test coverage.
Requirements
- 4+ years of backend software engineering experience designing, building, and maintaining robust, scalable systems such as microservices and APIs.
- Strong problem-solving and debugging experience with complex distributed systems.
- Experience managing projects and executing work across multiple workstreams.
- Strong cross-team collaboration skills and experience mentoring or guiding junior engineers.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a similar technical field.
- Financial infrastructure, ledgers, accounting, double-entry systems, or large-scale analytical systems experience is desirable but not required.
