Responsibilities
- Design and build end-to-end orchestration, monitoring, and framework systems for massive global scale and high availability.
- Architect foundational systems spanning global data centers, multiple cloud providers, and diverse workloads.
- Use statistical analysis to diagnose performance regressions and optimize resource utilization.
- Create tools and frameworks that improve the velocity and quality of internal engineering teams.
- Provide technical mentorship, lead engineers, and review code and system designs.
- Lead large-scale engineering projects from inception through global productionization.
- Collaborate with Product, Data Science, and Operations on global technical initiatives and investments.
Requirements
- 10+ years of professional experience building scalable, fault-tolerant products or platforms.
- Proficiency in one or more of Go, C, C++, Java, Python, or JavaScript.
- Experience leading large-scale engineering projects through their full lifecycle.
- Expertise in complex engineering and business tradeoffs, including buy-versus-build and incremental-versus-rewrite decisions.
- Experience identifying architectural gaps and reducing organizational technical debt.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent practical experience.
- Preferred qualifications include an advanced degree focused on distributed computing, system performance, or machine learning; experience with Linux internals, container orchestration, or modern security architectural patterns; and open-source or industry technical leadership experience.
