Responsibilities
- Lead software development activities covering requirements capture, design, coding, verification, debugging, bug fixing, and enhancements for avionics flight display systems.
- Develop platform and application software using C and Embedded C for complex architectures, scheduling, multithreaded programs, and RTOS environments.
- Perform peer reviews of high-level specifications and development artifacts.
- Conduct free-hand testing and regression testing of existing features.
- Ensure software quality before handoff to quality assurance teams for further testing and verification.
- Participate in an Agile development team while meeting deadlines and contractual milestones.
- Contribute to the selection, tailoring, deployment, and improvement of processes, tools, and metrics.
- Propose and help implement new product and lean-process improvements.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Technology in Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication, or an equivalent discipline.
- 7–12 years of relevant experience in software development for avionics embedded systems.
- Expertise in Embedded C, memory usage, scheduling, and execution-time allocation.
- Understanding of Integrated Modular Avionics, RTOS, data structures, database management, and software development life cycles.
- Hands-on experience with RTRT, LDRA, or comparable unit-testing and verification tools.
- Experience with cockpit display and graphics, Primary Flight Display, Multi-Functional Display, or Flight Management System functionality.
- Knowledge of DO-178B/C, MISRA or comparable coding standards, and high- and low-level requirements and test procedures.
- Experience with configuration management tools such as ClearCase or Git.
- Knowledge of avionics protocols including A429, A664/AFDX, RS232, and ARINC 653.
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
