Base Salary
$190k - $240k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain high-performance, scalable, and secure data stores.
- Collaborate with infrastructure, platform, and application teams to optimize data storage solutions.
- Implement and advocate for best practices in data modeling and incident response.
- Contribute to automation, observability, and proactive capacity planning.
- Participate in code reviews and mentor junior engineers.
- Partner with engineering teams to deliver on complex initiatives.
- Develop simple solutions to complex problems.
- Shape system design and implementation methodologies.
Requirements
- BA/BS in computer science, software engineering, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of software engineering experience focused on large-scale, distributed data systems.
- Strong expertise in designing scalable data storage solutions, preferably with MySQL, MongoDB, Elasticsearch, and Redis.
- Experience with cloud-native architectures, particularly Google Cloud.
- Deep understanding of data consistency, replication, and high availability strategies.
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code and container orchestration systems like Kubernetes.
- Proficiency in general-purpose programming languages, with a preference for Ruby on Rails.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to navigate ambiguity.
