Base Salary
$115k - $235k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead the development and architecture of scalable, elastic distributed systems for high-throughput hyperscale workloads.
- Design fault-tolerant, highly available systems using redundancy, replication, failover, load shedding, throttling, and rate limiting.
- Define scalability and performance requirements and leverage distributed state management and data-plane platforms.
- Establish SLOs, KPIs, telemetry, dashboards, and alerts for reliability and performance.
- Design performance, load, fault-injection, and brownout testing and implement replication and synchronization mechanisms.
- Diagnose production issues, guide incident response and root cause analysis, and ensure operational readiness.
- Develop infrastructure-as-code and automation for cloud infrastructure, including safe patching, updates, and rollbacks.
- Implement encryption, access controls, security remediation, and compliance practices for multi-tenant environments.
- Manage moderately complex initiatives and provide technical oversight of priorities, timelines, resources, and deliverables.
- Coach and mentor junior engineers, support talent development, and participate in candidate interviews and hiring recommendations.
Requirements
- Demonstrated ability to lead development and architecture of scalable distributed systems for hyperscale workloads.
- Experience designing fault-tolerant and highly available systems with strong observability, replication, and resilience mechanisms.
- Ability to diagnose production issues, guide incident response, and establish operational readiness.
- Experience with security, compliance, encryption, access controls, infrastructure as code, and cloud automation.
- Ability to manage technical initiatives, collaborate across teams, solve complex problems, and mentor engineers.
