Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain software applications, microservices, and utility programs for the lottery platform.
- Build and maintain React front-end applications and Node.js services, including RESTful APIs and downstream integrations.
- Design and optimize MySQL schemas, queries, and data access layers for high-volume transaction processing.
- Develop and maintain operational, business, and regulatory reports using the platform reporting toolset.
- Containerize services and maintain Kubernetes deployment manifests and configuration across environments.
- Create and maintain CI/CD pipeline definitions, automated tests, and quality gates for frequent releases.
- Translate lottery and customer requirements into technical designs and participate in code reviews, design reviews, testing, and software certification.
- Support installations, releases, configuration, production troubleshooting, defect resolution, and incident response, including on-call or escalation rotation participation.
- Maintain technical documentation for owned systems and components.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Two to three years of Software Engineer experience with increasing responsibility.
- At least two years of hands-on web application development with JavaScript or TypeScript, including React and Node.js.
- At least one year of relational database experience, preferably with MySQL.
- Practical experience with Docker, Git, source control, automated builds, deployment pipelines, and CI/CD tooling.
- Strong React skills including component design, state management, hooks, and responsive UI development.
- Strong Node.js server-side development skills, including RESTful API design, authentication, authorization, and service integration.
- Very strong SQL skills covering schema design, indexing, query tuning, and stored procedures, plus MySQL migrations, backup and restore, replication, and performance troubleshooting.
- Experience with containerized applications and Kubernetes; familiarity with Helm charts, config maps, secrets, and service discovery is preferred.
- Familiarity with microservices, event-driven integration, observability, Linux/UNIX environments, secure development, high availability, disaster recovery, and regulated production systems.
- Experience with operational or business reporting and JReports or comparable platforms such as Jasper, BIRT, or Crystal Reports is preferred.
- Additional experience with Java, C, C++, Python, or shell scripting is advantageous.
