Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, maintain, optimize, and scale simulation systems, tools, and virtual environments for robotic warehouse automation.
  • Build faster-than-real-time, scalable, multi-fidelity simulations spanning component, robot, fleet, and system levels.
  • Evaluate simulation tools and improve their performance, scalability, accuracy, usability, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Support simulation coverage for robots, perception, controls, routing, fleet coordination, warehouse operations, and system-wide automation.
  • Collaborate with robotics, controls, perception, cloud, QA, and product teams on development, testing, deployment, and operational needs.
  • Present technical insights, trade-offs, risks, and recommendations to senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Mentor engineers, share technical knowledge, promote engineering best practices, and maintain simulation documentation and architecture materials.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Robotics, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • At least 2 years of professional software engineering experience, preferably with simulation, robotics, optimization, or virtual-environment systems.
  • Professional expertise with Gz-Sim and ROS2.
  • Mastery of C++ and Python; C# and JavaScript are bonuses.
  • Strong software engineering skills for designing, implementing, testing, optimizing, and maintaining complex simulation software.
  • Hands-on experience developing simulations, digital twins, virtual environments, or system modeling tools for real-world engineering applications.
  • Experience with faster-than-real-time and multi-fidelity simulation modeling.
  • Experience with cloud-based simulation, distributed simulation workloads, or scalable simulation infrastructure.
  • Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Windsurf, or similar tools.
  • Good teamwork, communication, time management, ownership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Working proficiency in spoken and written English and the ability to present technical concepts, findings, risks, and recommendations.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to client and customer locations.
