Responsibilities
- Own availability, reliability, scalability, and performance of database platforms.
- Design, operate, and optimize DynamoDB, AWS RDS, Aurora, and Amazon OpenSearch environments.
- Implement and automate backup, restore, high availability, and disaster recovery strategies.
- Lead investigation and resolution of database-related incidents.
- Partner with Platform Engineering and SRE to define standards for database management.
- Enable secure and scalable self-service data platform workflows.
- Perform performance tuning, capacity planning, and query optimization.
- Build and maintain observability for data platforms using metrics and logs.
- Automate provisioning and operations using Infrastructure as Code tools.
- Ensure compliance with security and data governance requirements.
Requirements
- Experience with AWS services including RDS, Aurora, IAM, and Networking.
- Proficiency in PostgreSQL and Amazon OpenSearch.
- Familiarity with time-series databases.
- Experience with Kubernetes (EKS) and Terraform/OpenTofu.
- Knowledge of monitoring tools like Prometheus and Grafana.
- Experience with CI/CD and GitOps pipelines.
