Base Salary
$179k - $225k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead a portfolio of technology projects and a team of developers building distributed microservices and full-stack systems.
- Develop robust cloud-based solutions and partner with product managers and architects on service boundaries, integration patterns, and reusable frameworks.
- Provide technical leadership across engineering teams by setting standards for design, development, and operational excellence.
- Identify opportunities for refactoring, technical debt reduction, and performance optimization in distributed systems.
- Evaluate emerging tools and practices, mentor engineers, and influence long-term technology strategy.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or a related quantitative field.
- At least 4 years of software engineering experience, excluding internships.
- At least 2 years of experience with public cloud platforms, cloud-based productivity tools, or virtualization technologies.
- Preferred qualifications include a master's degree, 7+ years coding with multiple listed languages, database and cloud experience, open-source framework contributions, front-end framework experience, API development, CI/CD, infrastructure as code, automated testing, Git-based version control, cloud troubleshooting, AI-based coding tools, mentoring, observability, and technical initiative leadership.

- Annual salary ranges vary by location: $179,400-$204,700 in Chicago and $197,300-$225,100 in McLean.
