Responsibilities
- Design and build backend services and production APIs using C#/.NET, ASP.NET Core, TypeScript, and Node.js.
- Develop event-driven and streaming data pipelines that decode device payloads, enrich telemetry, and calculate engineering values in near real time.
- Model and query large time-series and document datasets in Azure Data Explorer and Azure Cosmos DB.
- Build and maintain a React and TypeScript single-page application with accessibility, internationalization, and performance considerations.
- Own infrastructure as code using Terraform and Bicep, and extend Azure DevOps deployment pipelines across development, QA, staging, and production.
- Configure and operate Azure API Management and Azure Front Door, including routing, authentication, rate limiting, and certificate lifecycle management.
- Support production services through instrumentation, incident investigation, root-cause analysis, and durable fixes.
- Contribute to architecture, technical strategy, design reviews, technical documentation, code review, refactoring, and mentoring.
Requirements
- Strong current commercial experience with C# as a primary language and modern .NET, including asynchronous programming, dependency injection, and testing.
- Experience designing, versioning, and securing production REST APIs with ASP.NET Core 8.
- Experience with server-side TypeScript/JavaScript services and tooling, Node.js, and Python for scripting, data processing, or integration work.
- Practical production experience with Azure Functions, Azure Cosmos DB, Azure Data Explorer and KQL, Azure Event Hubs, Azure Stream Analytics, Azure API Management, and Azure Front Door.
- Experience authoring and maintaining Azure infrastructure with Terraform and Bicep.
- Experience with Azure DevOps Repos, Pipelines, Boards, and Artifacts and routine build, test, scanning, and deployment automation.
- Strong TypeScript experience and production React 18 and Vite experience.
- Track record of shipping and operating production cloud software, including observability, incident response, testing, and infrastructure ownership.
- Desirable experience includes industrial IoT, SCADA, telemetry, connected products, LoRaWAN, Modbus, MQTT, Azure IoT Hub device twins, time-series analytics, engineering calculations, Azure Container Apps, Kubernetes, distributed tracing, metrics, alerting, Microsoft Entra ID, OAuth 2.0, and regulated or safety-conscious industrial environments.
Benefits
- Work on a platform that helps industrial customers find steam leaks, reduce fuel use, and lower emissions.
- Join a greenfield-leaning cloud estate within a stable FTSE 100 engineering group, with modern Azure technology and real customer scale.
- Remote-first collaboration across a distributed engineering team.
