Responsibilities
- Use AI coding assistants to accelerate development, refactoring, code review, and software delivery.
- Design and implement reusable, scalable, and maintainable software using object-oriented principles.
- Develop clean, documented code while critically evaluating AI-generated output and maintaining code ownership.
- Use AI tools for automated testing, test-case generation, and unit-test coverage.
- Participate in code reviews covering architecture, logic validation, and security considerations.
- Collaborate with business, product management, QA, and hosting teams on deployments across AWS development, staging, and production environments.
- Manage and optimize build, test, and deployment pipelines.
- Apply prompt engineering to improve AI coding tool effectiveness.
- Use Jira, GitLab, SwaggerHub, Bruno, and AI platforms for project tracking, version control, API documentation, and testing.
- Maintain documentation in Confluence and share best practices for AI-assisted development workflows.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience in lieu of a degree.
- Three to five years of software development experience, including at least one year of agentic AI development experience.
- Three to five years of proficiency with Python and Java, plus hands-on AWS cloud experience.
- Experience using agentic coding tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or Cursor, including validating and debugging AI-generated code.
- Strong foundations in data structures, algorithms, object-oriented design, and software architecture.
- Experience with Agile and Scrum development environments.
- Experience developing and integrating RESTful APIs, SQL, relational databases, distributed systems, and microservices.
- Working knowledge of Linux/Unix operating systems and command-line tools.
- Preferred experience with prompt engineering, AI-assisted test generation, PostgreSQL, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, DevOps practices, static analysis, and automated security scanning.
- Strong communication, collaboration, prioritization, and problem-solving abilities are required; open-source contributions or technical blog posts are preferred.
