Responsibilities
- Define and lead the technical strategy for AI and machine learning systems supporting recommendations, ranking, personalization, engagement, and safety.
- Design, develop, and deploy scalable production ML models and AI agents using foundational and fine-tuned LLMs, sub-agents, tools, and MCP integrations.
- Architect end-to-end data and ML pipelines covering data processing, model training, evaluation, and deployment.
- Drive experimentation frameworks, A/B testing, and offline evaluation to improve model and product outcomes.
- Partner with Product, Engineering, and Data leadership to translate business challenges into ML solutions and influence technical decisions.
- Mentor and elevate senior individual contributors while fostering an inclusive, high-performing ML community.
- Champion fairness, transparency, user safety, and other responsible AI practices across machine learning systems.
- Own complex initiatives from insight through measurable impact while adapting approaches to ambiguous problem spaces.
Requirements
- Typically 10–15 years of experience, with equivalent skills and alternative backgrounds also considered.
- Deep machine learning expertise and hands-on experience building and deploying large-scale production systems.
- Strong proficiency in Python and at least one major ML framework such as PyTorch or TensorFlow.
- Experience with recommendation systems, ranking models, or natural language processing.
- Expertise prompting and fine-tuning large language models and building production AI agents.
- Experience designing scalable data and ML pipelines using Spark, Airflow, or similar distributed systems.
- Ability to operate as a senior individual contributor, influence technical strategy without direct authority, and collaborate across functions.
- Track record of mentoring and uplifting others while building inclusive, high-performing teams.
- Ability to independently design, evaluate, and optimize ML systems and guide responsible AI application.
