Responsibilities
- Develop moderately complex software in C, C++, or other selected languages for new products and applications.
- Design and review architected modules and software systems supporting new technology or improving existing functionality and performance.
- Research fundamental problems and implement appropriate algorithmic solutions.
- Develop and debug computer graphics software, including 2D/3D rendering and GPU shader algorithms.
- Decompose functional requirements into well-defined tasks and contribute to project feasibility and product development planning.
- Evaluate new technologies, integrate externally developed software deliverables, and collaborate with electrical engineering and manufacturing partners on new processors.
- Assist with component datasheet and schematic design reviews as needed.
- Provide limited technical mentoring and peer technical assessments without formal supervisory responsibilities.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer or Software Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related technical field, plus at least five years of progressive full-time software engineering experience in computer graphics using C or C++.
- Alternatively, a master's degree in the same fields plus at least three years of relevant work experience.
- Experience with 2D/3D graphics and rendering technologies such as OpenGL or Vulkan.
- Experience writing efficient GPU shader algorithms and knowledge of GPU architectures and graphics pipelines.
- Experience serving as a lead software engineer for a complex software project.
- Experience with multithreaded programming, peer technical assessments, mentoring, and software design.
- Industry experience developing and debugging software on embedded devices and resolving computer graphics performance and graphical bugs.
- Industry experience developing software in team settings for products delivered to market.
