Base Salary
$105k - $125k/yr
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain embedded flight software for aircraft flight control, navigation, communication, and avionics systems.
- Collaborate with hardware and systems engineers to integrate software and hardware components.
- Write efficient, high-quality, documented code meeting aircraft performance and safety requirements.
- Develop software requirements and design documents and participate in code and design reviews.
- Test and debug software, including system-level tests and simulations, to verify design and performance requirements.
- Support safety-critical software development and documentation for regulatory compliance.
- Maintain technical documentation and apply emerging embedded flight software technologies.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Engineering or a related field.
- At least 1 year of experience in embedded flight software development.
- Professional programming experience in C/C++ and experience with embedded flight software development tools and methodologies.
- Preferred: experience with RTOS or embedded Linux for real-time applications.
- Preferred: familiarity with CAN, RS422, MIL-STD-1553, ARINC429, or similar low-level hardware interfaces.
- Preferred: experience with fault-redundant design, safety-critical software processes, DO-178C or MIL-516C, avionics, flight control, or navigation systems.
- Strong problem-solving, attention to detail, communication, and collaboration skills; startup experience is a plus.
