Responsibilities
- Design, build, and scale Apple’s DevOps and SRE ecosystem and cloud-native CI/CD platforms.
- Define engineering standards, reliability practices, and operational approaches across the organization.
- Support highly scalable distributed applications, load balancers, perimeter security, integrations, and API gateways.
- Troubleshoot Java and JVM technologies, runtime configurations, operating environments, file systems, and network protocols.
- Build machine learning pipelines, anomaly detection models, and data science solutions for large datasets.
- Research vulnerabilities and threats and translate findings into system designs and preventive implementations.
- Collaborate with technical and non-technical teams and external supply chain partners.
Requirements
- 7+ years of software engineering experience.
- Hands-on experience with at least one object-oriented programming language, ideally Java or JEE.
- Familiarity with Ansible and Terraform automation tools.
- Strong programming and scripting skills in Python, Bash, and Lua.
- Proficiency in relational and non-relational database fundamentals, including hands-on PL/SQL experience.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills for Java and JVM technologies.
- Familiarity with AWS, GCP, Azure, distributed storage systems, Prometheus, Splunk, Grafana, and CloudWatch.
- Understanding of CI/CD, release engineering, DevOps principles, machine learning algorithms, cryptographic algorithms, TLS, mTLS, and secure communications protocols.
- Experience writing, understanding, and reverse engineering regular expressions and researching vulnerabilities and threats.
