Responsibilities
- Lead engineering architecture design reviews.
- Build services with high availability and low latency for a mission-critical environment.
- Set a high technical bar through code and architecture design reviews.
- Mentor other engineers on the team.
- Work with Product, Design, and Engineering to create integrated customer solutions.
- Improve engineering processes, including strategic architecture, sprint planning, and stand-ups.
- Improve operational excellence through metrics and dashboards for observability.
- Respond to and debug live-site issues and prevent their recurrence.
- Design, develop, and deliver the Axon Alerts platform for ingesting, enriching, routing, and delivering alerts.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 8+ years of professional software development experience.
- Experience designing and delivering highly available, scalable cloud-based systems.
- Backend service experience with multiple managed languages such as Java, Scala, Go, or C#.
- Experience with SQL or NoSQL data stores, queue services, cache services, and/or gateway services.
- Knowledge of current software engineering and open-source technologies.
- Ability to distinguish promising engineering practices from overhyped trends.
- Interest in delighting end users and solving novel challenges.
