Base Salary
$140k - $200k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain onboard software for autonomous mining vehicles, including sensor drivers, data pipelines, and actuation commands.
- Own time synchronization and calibration across LiDAR, cameras, radar, IMU, and GNSS.
- Develop pipelines for moving vehicle sensor and telemetry data to the cloud, including logging, recording, and labeling.
- Build deployment, monitoring, and fault-management tooling for operating and updating a vehicle fleet.
- Develop equipment simulations, field-log replay, evaluation datasets, and robotics test infrastructure.
- Integrate drive-by-wire systems and implement low-level control logic, safety layers, degraded modes, and emergency-stop behavior.
- Collaborate with MineOS, mine operations, machine learning, hardware, and controls teams to expose vehicle health, faults, and metrics.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- 5–8+ years of experience building software for robots, vehicles, or other systems that act in the physical world.
- Strong proficiency in C++ and/or Python, with experience using Linux and robotics middleware such as ROS or ROS 2.
- Hands-on experience with sensor drivers, data pipelines, time synchronization, or calibration involving LiDAR, cameras, radar, IMU, or GNSS.
- Working knowledge of real-time and embedded systems, networking, and debugging across the software-hardware boundary.
- Experience with simulation, logging and replay, or robotics test and deployment infrastructure.
- Experience in autonomous vehicles, robotics, automotive, or off-highway equipment is strongly preferred.
