Base Salary
$180k - $240k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own the architecture of Orkes’s multi-cloud control plane.
- Design guardrails and orchestration layers for scalable, production-ready AI-agent workflows.
- Design distributed systems with real consistency and availability tradeoffs at scale.
- Set engineering patterns and lead reviews in a large codebase.
- Drive ambiguous, cross-team initiatives from problem definition through measured outcomes.
- Own operational architecture, including on-call, observability, SLOs, and blast-radius containment.
- Ship full-stack vertical slices using React and TypeScript when needed.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience.
- Deep object-oriented language experience in at least one of Java, Go, or C++.
- Experience setting patterns and leading reviews in a large codebase.
- Depth in at least one of AWS, Azure, or GCP cloud platforms.
- Experience driving ambiguous, cross-team initiatives from problem to measured outcome.
- Experience owning operational architecture, including on-call, observability, SLOs, and blast-radius containment.
- Experience shipping full-stack vertical slices in React and TypeScript when needed.
- Experience designing distributed systems with consistency and availability tradeoffs at scale.
- Experience directing AI coding tools precisely rather than delegating judgment and decisions to them.
- Preferred: hands-on experience with all three major cloud platforms, Java and Spring Boot, Netflix Conductor or Temporal, Go, multi-tenant control planes at scale, chaos or performance engineering, and building for portability versus cloud-native approaches.
