Responsibilities
- Develop and integrate intelligent feature layers for Workday’s AI agents.
- Use pre-trained foundational models, LLMs, and vision APIs to build functional user-facing enterprise software.
- Build Retrieval-Augmented Generation pipelines and manage AI orchestration frameworks.
- Perform continuous prompt engineering and develop agentic workflows.
- Integrate APIs, build backend applications, and manage data pipelines.
- Collaborate with software engineers, product managers, and UX designers to deliver reliable AI features.
- Help shape how AI agents reason, act, and scale responsibly in Workday’s platform.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience developing, testing, and deploying production code.
- 1+ years of professional experience or a strong demonstrable portfolio of applied project work with LLMs, foundational models, or modern AI APIs.
- Experience with AI orchestration concepts such as LangChain, LlamaIndex, or similar tooling, plus prompt engineering.
- 2+ years of hands-on experience with API integration, backend application development, and data pipelines.
- 2+ years of experience with core development languages such as Python and modern software engineering workflows.
- Familiarity with vector databases, semantic search, prompt optimization, data exploration, data transformation, and varied data-source integration.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or an equivalent technical field; a master’s degree is preferred.
- Interest in user experience and applying AI to practical customer problems, along with the ability to collaborate in cross-functional teams.
