Responsibilities
- Serve as the department’s AI and cloud architecture subject matter expert, providing strategic guidance on machine learning, generative AI, LLMs, agentic AI, and Microsoft Azure.
- Design, build, test, and optimize secure, reliable, and scalable AI and cloud architectures on Azure.
- Develop and deploy AI-powered solutions using Azure OpenAI Service, Databricks, and other cloud-native technologies.
- Evaluate, select, and integrate foundation models, third-party AI services, and emerging technologies.
- Establish governance frameworks, best practices, operating procedures, and documentation for AI, data, and cloud platforms.
- Provide technical leadership, support major initiatives, champion AI adoption, and mentor technical teams.
- Drive innovation and continuous improvement across AI, cloud computing, and data engineering.
- Implement MLOps practices, model lifecycle management, monitoring, fine-tuning, and automated delivery pipelines.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of AI/ML engineering experience, including at least 2 years specializing in generative AI, NLP, LLMs, or agentic AI solutions.
- Experience designing and delivering enterprise-scale AI, data, and cloud solutions using Microsoft Azure and Databricks.
- Hands-on expertise with Python, SQL, Spark, Azure AI services, Azure OpenAI, Azure Data Lake, Databricks, MLflow, Delta Lake, and model-serving technologies.
- Experience building and deploying LLM-based applications using prompt engineering, RAG architectures, vector databases, AI agents, and LangChain or LlamaIndex.
- Experience leading AI, data, or technology projects and mentoring technical teams in AI/ML development, solution design, and implementation.
- Experience with MLOps, model lifecycle management, monitoring, fine-tuning techniques including LoRA, RLHF, and instruction tuning, and CI/CD automated delivery pipelines.
- Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Machine Learning, or a related field; a Master's or PhD is preferred.
- Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Azure AI Engineer Associate or Databricks Machine Learning Professional are valued.
- Insurance or financial services experience is advantageous.
