Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain complex software applications using clean, efficient, and maintainable code.
Lead code reviews and all aspects of technical delivery, ensuring code quality and sharing knowledge.
Lead the technical direction of products and domains, owning delivery, application health, engineering standards, and technical debt remediation.
Provide technical leadership, mentoring, constructive feedback, and, where applicable, line management for junior software engineers.
Troubleshoot complex technical issues, perform performance tuning, and improve system reliability.
Evaluate and recommend tools, technologies, and software-development processes.
Manage tasks and priorities to support timely delivery and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
Maintain governance and custodianship activities for technology assets.
Apply security principles, secure coding practices, AI concepts, and tools to solve routine problems.
Drive innovation and contribute to technical communities by exploring emerging technologies and practices.

Proficiency in at least two programming languages.
Deep system design expertise and broad technical understanding of the ecosystem supporting the relevant domain.
Strong problem-solving, analytical, prioritisation, and critical-thinking skills.
Strong understanding of security principles and secure coding practices.
Knowledge of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
Experience or capability in technical leadership, mentoring, and assessing others' performance.
Ability to communicate effectively with team members, stakeholders, and product owners.
Ability to apply traditional and agile software-development practices to plan, prioritise, and deliver work.
Ability to use AI concepts and tools to solve routine problems with minimal guidance.
