Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and integrate software features for distributed systems using Golang, TypeScript, Python, Kubernetes, and Docker.
- Collaborate with systems engineers, test engineers, software specialists, subject matter experts, and customer stakeholders to translate requirements into software solutions.
- Develop software components, interfaces, supporting tools, and engineering test cases for verification and validation of Defence capabilities.
- Investigate software defects, analyse logs and simulation outputs, and resolve technical issues.
- Produce software design documentation, interface specifications, and test artefacts.
- Participate in peer reviews, automated testing, configuration management, Agile delivery, and continuous improvement of engineering practices.
Requirements
- Experience in software design, development, integration, testing, and troubleshooting in complex software environments.
- Proficiency in Golang, TypeScript, Python, Java, or a comparable programming language.
- Experience developing and integrating APIs, services, interfaces, or technical data exchange solutions.
- Knowledge of Kubernetes and/or Docker.
- Experience using Git or equivalent source-control systems and participating in peer reviews.
- Ability to investigate defects, analyse logs, and interpret simulation or system outputs.
- Experience producing software design documentation, interface specifications, and test artefacts.
- Experience working in Agile delivery environments and collaborating with cross-functional engineering teams.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
- Australian citizenship and eligibility to obtain and maintain an NV-1 security clearance are required.
- Advantageous qualifications include Defence, aerospace, command and control, communications, sensor, mission-system, simulation, web application, database, CI/CD, DevSecOps, software performance, and customer workshop experience, plus familiarity with IFF and Link 16.
