Responsibilities
- Design, develop and integrate software features for a distributed simulation system.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams, subject matter experts and customer stakeholders.
- Develop software components, interfaces, supporting tools and engineering test cases for verification and validation.
- Investigate defects, analyse logs and interpret simulation or system outputs to resolve technical issues.
- Produce software design documentation, interface specifications and test artefacts.
- Participate in peer reviews, automated testing, configuration management and Agile delivery activities.
- Contribute to software integration, sustainment, performance optimisation and technical workshops where required.
Requirements
- Experience across software design, development, integration, testing and troubleshooting in complex software environments.
- Proficiency in Golang, TypeScript, Python, Java or a comparable programming language.
- Experience developing and integrating APIs, services, interfaces or technical data exchange solutions.
- Knowledge of Kubernetes and/or Docker.
- Experience using Git or equivalent source-control systems and participating in peer reviews.
- Ability to investigate software defects, analyse logs and interpret simulation or system outputs.
- Experience producing software design documentation, interface specifications and test artefacts.
- Experience working in Agile delivery environments with cross-functional engineering teams.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Software Engineering, Computer Science or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
- Australian citizenship and an NV-1 security clearance are required.
- Defence, aerospace, command and control, communications, sensor or mission-system experience is advantageous.
- Experience with complex software-intensive systems, test environments, simulation platforms, CI/CD pipelines, DevSecOps, DOORS, Jazz, Jira, Confluence, Angular, PostgreSQL, IFF or Link 16 is advantageous.
