Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and troubleshoot industrial communication protocols and network configurations.
- Serve as a subject matter expert for Ethernet/IP, Modbus, PROFINET, OPC UA, LLDP, and PRP.
- Participate in protocol integration reviews, compliance activities, and test design.
- Collaborate with software and hardware teams to integrate protocol stacks and validate performance.
- Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies to inform design decisions.
- Analyze the impact of protocol-related changes on testing, schedules, and product integrity.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related STEM field.
- 8+ years of experience working with industrial network protocols such as Ethernet/IP, Modbus, PROFINET, and OPC UA.
- C++ development experience.
- Strong understanding of Ethernet-based communication and real-time networking.
- Familiarity with certification processes and compliance standards.
- Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.
- Preferred: object-oriented programming experience with C#, C++, or similar.
- Preferred: DeltaV or other distributed control systems experience.
- Preferred: PLC integration and industrial automation knowledge.
- Preferred: familiarity with ISA/IEC 62443 and NIST cybersecurity standards.
