Responsibilities
- Execute existing test cases and develop or modify test interfaces for firmware features.
- Create test plans, test reports, traceability matrices, and other documentation in an FDA-regulated quality environment.
- Design, implement, and test new products and improve existing products using low-power systems principles.
- Develop automated tests, perform debugging, document software defects, and report defects to developers.
- Participate in design reviews and provide input on requirements, product design, and potential problems.
- Identify and mitigate risks, resolve roadblocks, and implement engineering and quality process improvements.
- Test embedded software and mobile applications, including systems using analog and digital hardware interfaces and Bluetooth Low Energy.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and help lead projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline.
- 5-8 years of industry experience.
- In-depth knowledge and proven experience in at least one programming language, including hands-on Java or C# and other object-oriented languages.
- Experience developing automated tests and familiarity with a wide variety of automated testing frameworks.
- Experience debugging through configuration files, logs, or code and documenting defects with a bug-tracking system.
- Prior embedded programming experience, particularly with low-power microcontrollers in battery-powered systems.
- Proficiency in embedded software and mobile application testing and knowledge of embedded firmware testing.
- Experience with FDA design control processes and familiarity with medical-device product development and Good Manufacturing Practice requirements.
- Understanding of Bluetooth Low Energy specifications.
- Experience leading or helping lead one or more projects.
