Responsibilities

  • Own the technical vision, architecture, and end-to-end delivery of an AI-native, agentic government software platform.
  • Build the core platform, including its data layer, agent orchestration, evaluation and guardrail systems, integrations, and security baseline.
  • Work directly with design-partner customers to refine the product and ship weekly improvements.
  • Migrate existing government customers from the legacy system without disrupting their operations.
  • Establish monitoring, incident response, release discipline, security, privacy, accessibility, auditability, and compliance practices.
  • Hire, mentor, and eventually lead a product engineering team of approximately 3–6 people.
  • Set the 12–24 month technical and product roadmap and make build-versus-buy decisions.

Requirements

  • Have shipped production LLM-powered features involving agents, tool use, retrieval, evaluation, guardrails, and cost and latency management.
  • Be comfortable owning backend, data, cloud infrastructure, and enough frontend development to ship products.
  • Understand authentication, data protection, audit logging, least-privilege design, security, and compliance requirements.
  • Be prepared to hire, mentor, and establish the culture of a small engineering team.
  • Communicate technical trade-offs clearly to government directors, customer IT teams, and company leadership.
  • Preferred experience includes government, healthcare, insurance, or other regulated buyers; SOC 2, FedRAMP, GovRAMP, StateRAMP, or Canadian security frameworks; legacy-system migrations; multi-business software groups; distributed engineering leadership; and open-source or published AI-agent work.

Benefits

  • Real ownership of a blank-page platform build with existing customers and authority over major technical decisions.
  • Competitive base salary plus equity, long-term incentive, or profit share; specific salary figures are not provided.
