Responsibilities
- Design, develop, maintain, and support high-quality software solutions for mission-critical systems.
- Build software applications with database integration, interfaces, and functionality enhancements.
- Troubleshoot control-system issues and implement design improvements based on analysis.
- Implement, update, and troubleshoot software on hardware platforms.
- Retrieve and clear hardware log files for diagnostic and other applications.
- Develop system descriptions, technical reports, customer presentations, and operational or training documentation.
- Collaborate with internal controls and software teams and communicate solutions to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Participate in training, integration, rapid prototyping, testing, and RDT&E events.
- Monitor emerging technologies and government or industry trends and advise leadership on opportunities.
- Provide occasional on-site support and training for non-local exercises.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Controls Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- At least 3 years of professional experience in software engineering, controls engineering, or a related field.
- Demonstrated full-lifecycle software development experience in C++, Python, or Java.
- Experience with signal processing and messaging protocols including Serial, CAN, NMEA 2000, and TCP/IP.
- Experience with or willingness to work in rapid prototyping and testing environments.
- Strong organization, planning, teamwork, written communication, and oral communication skills.
- U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret DoD clearance.
- Desired qualifications include experience with closed-loop control systems, practical machine learning, simulation-based test and evaluation software, GPS, IMUs, transducers, actuators, robotics, autonomy, maritime systems, fleet operations, or Navy processes.
