Responsibilities

  • Build and optimize core autonomy software including planning algorithms and collision avoidance systems.
  • Implement efficient data structures for tree search and develop cost evaluation functions.
  • Work on components like trajectory validators and collision checkers.
  • Develop algorithms for motion planning in degraded states to enhance customer experience.
  • Collaborate with experts across various teams to improve strategic decision-making capabilities.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a B.S., M.S., Ph.D., or advanced degree in a relevant engineering program.
  • Must return to school after completing the internship.
  • Good academic standing is required.
  • Able to commit to a 12-week internship starting in May or June of 2026.
  • At least one previous industry internship or relevant project experience is necessary.
  • Willingness to relocate to the Bay Area, California for the internship duration.

Benefits

  • Monthly salary range of $5,500 to $9,500 based on location and education level.
