Responsibilities
- Own the security posture of GCP and Kubernetes environments, including IAM, network segmentation, workload hardening, data access, and continuous cloud misconfiguration remediation.
- Build hardened base images, secure Kubernetes configurations, and policy-as-code guardrails for Kubernetes and Terraform.
- Embed security into CI/CD through automated fixes and alerts.
- Manage secrets and keys end to end, including rollout, rotation, and access policies.
- Drive vulnerability management from discovery through remediation, prioritizing issues by real exposure.
- Review services and designs through practical threat modeling.
- Lead security incidents from containment through post-mortem.
- Mentor engineers and help teams adopt AI services safely.
- Use AI to scale security work through LLM-assisted triage, policy-as-code generation and testing, and automated design reviews.
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience in security, infrastructure, DevOps, or SRE, including 3+ years owning cloud security in production.
- Deep hands-on experience securing a major public cloud; experience with GCP is directly relevant, while strong AWS or Azure experience may transfer.
- Production Kubernetes security experience including RBAC, network policies, admission control, and workload hardening.
- Experience with Terraform or a similar tool and Python or Go, including building security automation.
- Sound judgment in deciding when to block, guide, or accept security risks.
- Familiarity with security risks of LLM APIs and AI services in production, or willingness to develop that expertise.
- Nice-to-have experience in application security, DevSecOps, data-platform security, data-access governance, DevOps, SRE, or platform engineering.
