Responsibilities
- Own and deliver cross-team and cross-tribal technical initiatives.
- Own the architecture and technical direction for a tribe.
- Provide hands-on coding, technical guidance, and architectural decision-making.
- Improve the stability, performance, scalability, reliability, and maintainability of business-critical systems.
- Ensure timely delivery of team projects and alignment with engineering standards.
- Mentor engineers, facilitate learning, and lead by example.
- Build systems, tools, policies, and patterns that improve organization-wide productivity.
- Communicate technical direction internally and represent Fresha in external technology communities through talks and blog posts.
Requirements
- Proven experience delivering large systems involving contributions from one or more teams.
- Experience developing multi-year technology strategy for critical business areas spanning multiple systems and teams.
- Experience shaping broad architecture and shipping large services, complex libraries, or major infrastructure.
- Strong problem-solving, debugging, planning, facilitation, communication, relationship-building, and mentoring skills.
- Proven experience writing complex JavaScript single-page applications.
- Proven experience with React and Redux.
- Proven experience with a modern JavaScript toolchain including NPM, Lerna, Webpack, and ESLint.
- Ability to write well-structured, maintainable, and documented code while balancing pragmatism and quality.
- Familiarity with continuous integration, development tools, database schema design, TypeScript, Cordova, native Android or iOS development, RAIL Performance, progressive web applications, server-side rendering, Node, Cypress, and Jest.
- Full-stack experience is valued, with Ruby or Elixir experience considered an additional advantage.
