Base Salary
$170k - $256k/yr
Responsibilities
- Contribute to proactive and reactive security projects across application, infrastructure, and internal/corporate security.
- Respond to security investigations, vulnerabilities, security questions, and incidents as part of an on-call rotation.
- Create threat models, explain security risks, and develop pragmatic risk-reduction measures.
- Write software to support security work and improve the security of the Patreon platform.
- Work with the security team, Risk Engineering, engineering, legal, and IT partners to protect creator and fan security, privacy, and trust.
Requirements
- At least two years of experience reducing security risks in application, infrastructure, or corporate security.
- At least three years of deeper knowledge in one security or security-adjacent domain, such as infrastructure security, application security, cloud security, corporate/IT security, cryptography, or privacy.
- Ability to develop software using Python, Rust, Golang, or a similar language.
- Experience working in a modern software development environment and using AI tools such as LLMs or ML models to identify and address security issues.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Preferred experience includes working on large-scale internet platforms, contributing to large-scale production codebases, responding to security incidents, investigating incident impact, and building incident mitigations.
