Responsibilities
- Build and maintain the high-performance data layer used by modeling teams for training and evaluation jobs
- Work directly on petabyte-scale storage infrastructure and its networking and performance challenges
- Collaborate daily with researchers and engineers
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience working on data storage infrastructure
- Strong command of Python
- Experience with Kubernetes, particularly storage features such as Persistent Volumes and CSI drivers
- Ability to transform unstructured data into performant datasets across S3, GCS, and POSIX storage backends
- Experience with distributed data processing frameworks such as Apache Beam, Spark, or Flink
- Familiarity with BigQuery, Airflow, or dbt is preferred
- Genuine excitement about AI and interest in following AI research
- Comfort operating at the edge of what is known and building new systems
