Responsibilities
- Design and develop performance-optimized ABAP solutions for SAP HANA using database pushdown principles.
- Build enterprise data models and reusable artifacts with CDS views, associations, annotations, and authorization concepts.
- Develop modular ABAP services and APIs using OData and contract-first service design patterns.
- Build AI-enabled SAP experiences using LLM integration, tool calling, retrieval grounding, prompts, context assembly, and deterministic fallbacks.
- Create automated unit, integration, contract, and AI evaluation tests with monitoring for regressions and drift.
- Implement AI guardrails including authorization-aware filtering, redaction, action confirmations, and audit logs.
- Instrument services with logs, metrics, and traces and support incident response, diagnostics, and reliability improvements.
- Integrate SAP and non-SAP systems and collaborate with UX, integration, data, and platform teams to deliver production-ready solutions.
Requirements
- At least 7.5 years of professional experience.
- 15 years of full-time education.
- Strong hands-on expertise in ABAP Development on HANA, including performance tuning, pushdown, and efficient SQL access patterns.
- Proficiency with CDS views and modern enterprise data modeling.
- Experience with AMDP and SQLScript for performance-critical scenarios.
- Strong software engineering discipline, including clean design, testing, CI/CD orientation, and production readiness.
- Ability to build AI-native capabilities involving LLM integration, retrieval grounding, tool orchestration, evaluation loops, and safety boundaries.
- Experience with OData or service design, API lifecycle management, and contract-first development is beneficial.
- Experience integrating SAP backends with cloud runtimes and enterprise integration platforms is beneficial.
- Familiarity with performance benchmarking, load testing, query-plan tuning, SAP security, authorizations, and compliance is beneficial.
