Base Salary
$180k - $200k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain backend services for paywalls, subscription tiering, onboarding, in-app messaging, referrals, trials, and checkout bundling.
- Develop experimentation and instrumentation infrastructure using feature flags, experiment assignment, and event tracking.
- Work across acquisition, activation, and retention initiatives in partnership with mobile engineers and product managers.
- Design API contracts and services consumed by iOS and Android applications.
- Operate critical production systems, provide on-call coverage, triage and mitigate incidents, and document handoffs.
- Set engineering practices for Nanit’s US team, including documentation, asynchronous communication, code review, and on-call habits.
- Contribute to backend guild standards and best practices across R&D.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional backend software development experience with strong coding, software design, and architecture skills.
- Experience working independently in distributed teams with limited timezone overlap.
- Excellent written and asynchronous communication skills and comfort operating with ambiguity.
- Experience with critical production systems, load balancing, caching, and distributed systems.
- Proficiency designing and maintaining APIs consumed by mobile clients, including REST, gRPC, or WebSocket APIs.
- Hands-on experience with A/B testing infrastructure, feature flags, and event instrumentation, such as Unleash and Mixpanel.
- Experience with testing methodologies and test automation frameworks.
- Proficiency with monitoring and observability tools such as Grafana and Prometheus.
- Proven experience delivering backend projects successfully.
- Knowledge of Agile methodologies.
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes is advantageous.
- Preferred experience with consumer subscription products, billing, plan tiering, App Store and Google Play in-app purchases, or Stripe.
- Prior experience on growth, monetization, or lifecycle teams is preferred.
- Ability to take a concept independently from research through production.
- Willingness to travel to Tel Aviv for onboarding and periodically thereafter.
