Responsibilities
- Design and develop scalable software systems and enhance backend features.
- Collaborate with backend, SRE, dashboard, firmware, support, and product teams to integrate systems and improve reliability and user experience.
- Identify and address performance issues across the system, including database query performance.
- Own tasks from conception through implementation while contributing to coding standards and team best practices.
- Guide and mentor junior engineers in system development and career growth.
Requirements
- At least 11 years of experience writing production code and tests for medium- to large-scale systems.
- At least 11 years of experience with full-stack technologies such as Ruby on Rails, Python, Java, ReactJS, and JavaScript.
- Experience designing efficient databases and optimizing query performance in a relational database such as Postgres.
- Demonstrated ownership of software development tasks and effective collaboration with peers and cross-functional teams.
- Interest in understanding user needs and contributing to product development.
- Strong communication skills.
- Preferred: experience building cloud-based infrastructure and services, such as web applications.
- Preferred: experience or interest in security or networking.
- Preferred: experience with container solutions such as Kubernetes.
