Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain high-performance C++ services, libraries, command-line applications, and public-facing APIs.
- Build and support Python packages, command-line tools, web services, and web applications, including Django back ends.
- Write unit, integration, and regression tests for C++ and Python systems.
- Work with relational databases, Cassandra keystores, Solr collections, and other data sources.
- Maintain HTML, CSS, and JavaScript interfaces while supporting accessibility and mobile-friendly design.
- Monitor applications for performance, security, and accessibility compliance.
- Contribute to code reviews, development standards, team process improvements, and collaborative agile development.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a scientific field such as engineering or physics, or equivalent experience.
- At least three years of professional experience developing high-performance C++ programs.
- At least one year of professional experience developing programs or libraries in Python.
- Experience writing unit and integration tests for C++ systems.
- Understanding of accessibility and security compliance.
- Experience with version control systems such as Git or SVN.
- Preferred qualifications include Hadoop, Django, JavaScript frameworks such as Angular or React, web services, Lucene, Solr, Selenium, Python testing, and strong Git knowledge.
- Strong verbal and written communication, teamwork, and collaboration skills.
