Base Salary
$160k - $260k/yr
Responsibilities
- Specify, ship, and operate the Aptos Payment API, initially wrapping partner infrastructure and later supporting orchestration across a licensed partner network.
- Lead requirements intake, partner integrations, and technical diligence with banks, EMIs, PSPs, stablecoin issuers, and e-wallet platforms.
- Build revenue attribution and reconciliation, a single-window KYC/KYB integration, a testnet sandbox, and native-asset-only settlement infrastructure.
- Own the payments side of the integration with the trading stack, including corridor FX routing and the API contract between the systems.
- Hire and lead the first two engineers and make build-versus-buy decisions for orchestration and KYC tooling.
- Publish the Payment API v1 specification, ship the testnet sandbox, stand up revenue attribution v1, harden USDT and USDC settlement rails, and deliver the first client integration within the first 90 days.
Requirements
- 8+ years building production-scale payment infrastructure, including PSP- or orchestrator-class systems such as cross-border rails, on/off-ramps, virtual accounts, or reconciliation systems.
- Hands-on chain-native settlement experience with stablecoin rails, ramp integrations, and wallet infrastructure.
- Move or Rust experience is a plus, while strong engineering judgment on any technology stack is required.
- Experience leading external technical relationships with banks, issuers, and regulated partners.
- Product engineering instincts focused on client and partner requirements and practical use of existing internal products.
- Ability to operate as a player-coach by shipping code and hiring and leading engineers.
- APAC corridor experience, including e-wallet ecosystems, QR rails, or regional licensing landscapes, is a plus.
- FX and market-structure fluency for collaborating with the trading team on RFQ integration is a plus.
- Working familiarity with payments regulation, including money transmission, MiCA, or the Singapore PS Act, is a plus.
- Prior 0-to-1 experience as a founding engineer, first technical hire, or owner of a product line from inception to revenue is a plus.
