Base Salary
$118k - $177k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, modify, validate, and debug Android, Android Automotive, embedded, edge, and utility software applications.
- Develop and integrate software features for concept vehicles, prototypes, customer showcases, and global trade shows.
- Perform system integration testing and SIT-level debugging using logs, traces, crash analysis, timing analysis, and interface diagnostics.
- Execute envelope and stress-use-case testing to characterize performance headroom and future scalability.
- Drive root-cause analysis and closure of integration issues spanning Android, middleware, vehicle interfaces, operating systems, and embedded components.
- Support software bring-up, integration, validation, and demo readiness on target hardware, concept vehicles, and automotive development platforms.
- Collaborate on requirements, technical approaches, estimates, dependencies, architecture, and delivery schedules.
- Mentor junior engineers, review code, share debugging practices, and document designs, integration procedures, findings, known issues, and validation results.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field plus 2+ years of software engineering or related experience; alternatively, a master's degree plus 1+ year or a PhD.
- At least 2 years of academic or work experience with a programming language such as C, C++, Java, or Python.
- Preferred 5+ years of professional software development experience in Android, Android Automotive, embedded systems, or automotive software platforms.
- Strong understanding of Android framework, services, application lifecycle, IPC mechanisms, permissions, build systems, debugging tools, and system-level behavior.
- Hands-on experience with Java or Kotlin and working knowledge of C/C++.
- Experience with BSP integration, performance analysis, KPI management, compute platform architecture, hypervisors, and virtual machines.
- Experience with embedded operating systems, middleware, frameworks, toolchains, and AUTOSAR Classic or Adaptive.
- Experience integrating ADAS sensors such as cameras, radar, and ultrasound sensors.
- Preferred experience with Android Automotive OS, automotive middleware, vehicle interfaces, CAN, SOME/IP, MQTT, or other in-vehicle communication technologies.
- Experience with system integration testing, issue triage, log analysis, root-cause analysis, and debugging across software, middleware, operating systems, and hardware interfaces.
- Strong experience with Linux, QNX, embedded software environments, cross-platform integration, software design, unit testing, validation, and integration.
- Experience with source control, issue tracking, release processes, and collaborative software development practices.
- Ability to work independently, drive technical issues to closure, collaborate across engineering and partner teams, and communicate technical findings clearly.
- Experience with Qt, IoT, cloud-connected vehicle experiences, or AI-assisted software development tools is a plus.
