Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and manage a small team of QA engineers, including task prioritization, coaching, performance management, and career development.
- Define QA strategy, test methodologies, release readiness criteria, quality standards, metrics, and risk mitigation plans for robotics platforms.
- Develop and maintain test plans, test cases, automated test frameworks, and testing solutions for web, API, embedded, and robotics applications.
- Perform functional, integration, system, regression, performance, user acceptance, diagnostic, and hardware-in-the-loop testing.
- Investigate software, firmware, and hardware defects through root cause analysis, log analysis, debugging, and validation on robotic platforms.
- Partner with software, firmware, hardware, systems engineering, product, and operations teams on acceptance criteria, release quality, and testing priorities.
- Support automated quality gates, testing infrastructure, release pipelines, new product introduction, sustaining engineering, and field reliability initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline is required.
- 6+ years of Software Quality Assurance experience, including at least 2 years in a QA leadership or team lead role.
- Experience leading QA initiatives while remaining hands-on with testing and automation.
- Experience developing and maintaining automated test frameworks and test automation solutions.
- Strong experience with functional, integration, regression, system, performance, and acceptance testing methodologies.
- Proficiency with Python, C++, or similar programming or scripting languages.
- Experience working in Linux environments and with Pytest or comparable testing frameworks.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated quality validation, defect tracking, and project management tools such as Jira.
- Familiarity with Robot Operating System (ROS/ROS2) is preferred.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, communication, collaboration, and leadership capabilities.
