Responsibilities
- Lead the architecture, design, and development of scalable enterprise applications and platforms.
- Provide technical direction for complex initiatives spanning multiple applications and engineering teams.
- Design and build Java and Spring Boot backend services with React and Node.js for end-to-end solutions.
- Build reusable frameworks, APIs, and platform capabilities for use across teams.
- Drive architecture reviews, code reviews, and engineering practices covering quality, testing, security, observability, and operational excellence.
- Troubleshoot complex technical and production issues and deliver long-term solutions.
- Mentor engineers and provide technical guidance and knowledge sharing.
- Develop or support ETL/ELT pipelines, data-platform integrations, and workflow orchestration where applicable.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or qualifying equivalent software engineering experience.
- At least 10 years of software engineering experience building large-scale enterprise applications and distributed systems is stated in the role description.
- Minimum qualifications allow either a bachelor’s degree plus 4 years of software engineering experience or 6 years of software engineering experience.
- Strong hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, microservices, REST APIs, and distributed systems.
- Experience with React, TypeScript, Node.js, and/or NestJS is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, object-oriented programming, system design, and design patterns.
- Experience designing for scalability, high availability, resiliency, security, and performance.
- Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP; databases; data modeling; caching; and performance optimization.
- Experience with ETL/ELT, data lakes, data warehouses, Apache Airflow or Astronomer, and modern data processing technologies is advantageous.
- Working knowledge of Python and exposure to generative AI, LLM applications, RAG, information retrieval, or machine learning are advantageous.
- Demonstrated technical leadership, problem-solving, communication, and cross-team influence skills.
