Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and operate Watcher’s identity and access management, infrastructure and cloud security, endpoint management, and incident-response controls.
  • Establish secure engineering practices and paved roads, including code-review security checklists, dependency scanning, secrets management, and container hardening.
  • Lead security projects from ideation through implementation and rollout, and make security infrastructure build-versus-buy decisions.
  • Evaluate vendors and their security posture before adoption.
  • Own security questionnaires, product security whitepapers, customer penetration-test support, and technical customer communications during incidents.
  • Collaborate with the Infrastructure & Security team to define Watcher’s security roadmap and priorities.
  • Join customer and prospect calls, understand enterprise security needs, and feed buyer signals into product and threat-model prioritization.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of hands-on technical experience in security roles, rather than purely GRC or compliance work.
  • Ability to read code, understand infrastructure, and evaluate technical controls.
  • Direct experience with application security, cloud security, or product security, ideally owning or significantly contributing to the security posture of a product handling sensitive customer data.
  • Experience working at a security vendor or security product company.
  • An engineering mindset with the ability to build custom solutions, automate security work, and apply systems-level thinking.
  • Comfort working in a small, fast-moving team across hands-on security work and strategic product thinking.
  • Strong written communication skills for security questionnaires, whitepapers, and incident communications.
  • Preferred: strong understanding of enterprise security buyer concerns, experience leading a security incident through resolution and customer communication, and experience with AI/ML or LLM security.

Benefits

  • Market-competitive salary, equity, and competitive benefits.
  • Flexible work hours and schedule, unlimited vacation, and unlimited sick leave.
  • Up to 6 months of paid parental leave.
  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance.
  • Retirement savings with competitive employer matching, including a 401(k) for US employees.
  • Lunch, dinner, and snacks provided on workdays.
  • Paid staff retreats, business trips, and relevant conferences.
  • $1,000 USD annual professional development budget.
  • Relocation support and visa fees if applicable.
  • Full-time, in-person work from the London or San Francisco office, with flexible hours and some work-from-home arrangements.
  • Engineers have an effectively unlimited token budget for compute-intensive work.
