Base Salary
$110k - $170k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, program, test, and commission PLC and HMI software for custom automation systems.
- Integrate robots, motion systems, vision systems, sensors, and safety devices into automation solutions.
- Troubleshoot and support machine startup, commissioning, and customer acceptance testing.
- Develop control specifications and software documentation.
- Lead controls engineering efforts on complex projects and collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams.
- Mentor engineers and provide technical direction.
- Support proposal development, project planning, and customer technical discussions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Software or Electrical Engineering from an accredited university or equivalent experience in a related field.
- At least 7 years of professional hands-on Software Controls Engineering experience.
- Ability to travel up to 20% between locations and access to reliable transportation.
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
- Experience with industrial automation systems using PLCs, HMIs, and industrial software platforms.
- Proficiency with several PLC platforms, HMI/SCADA systems, industrial robotics platforms, motion control, vision systems, and industrial networking.
- Familiarity with Python, C, C++, C#, or similar programming languages.
- Experience with Windows, Linux, and virtual machine environments including VMware, Hyper-V, or VirtualBox.
- Experience commissioning and troubleshooting automated equipment.
- MSEE is a preferred qualification.
