Responsibilities
- Own and maintain the Java client library so it is robust, well-tested, and easy for external users to integrate.
- Design, develop, and maintain high-performance C/C++ server applications.
- Write message parsers and feed handlers for direct market-data feeds from trading venues.
- Optimize code for throughput of millions of messages per second and low latency measured in nanoseconds.
- Implement tools and libraries for petabyte-scale data processing and analysis.
- Collaborate with the systems team on build, deployment, and CI/CD best practices.
- Implement monitoring, improve application uptime, and support smooth feature rollouts and updates.
Requirements
- 5+ years of full-time software engineering experience, preferably at a trading firm, technology company, or high-growth startup.
- Strong proficiency in both C/C++ and Java.
- Experience designing APIs with intuitive, developer-friendly interfaces.
- Knowledge of systems programming, algorithms, data structures, multithreading, networked I/O, serialization, CPU architecture, kernels, and compilers.
- Experience with multiprocess environments and familiarity with lldb/gdb.
- Experience with C# is a plus.
- Familiarity with open source release management, versioning, changelogs, issue triage, and backwards compatibility.
- Interest in low-level optimization, performance engineering, financial data, or algorithmic trading.
- Strong communication skills and work ethic for a remote workplace.
