Responsibilities
- Prepare technical design specifications and written knowledge-transfer materials.
- Review requirements, analysis, and design documents and provide feedback.
- Implement, test, maintain, and support software based on technical specifications.
- Lead architecture, design, implementation, architecture reviews, and code reviews for scalable web services.
- Improve system quality, maintain existing codebases, identify improvement opportunities, and develop standard operating procedures.
- Investigate and apply new technologies, including AI-native engineering practices and modernization initiatives.
- Collaborate with colleagues and cross-functional stakeholders to implement technical designs and resolve customer-support issues.
- Mentor less experienced developers and lead project work when needed.
- Translate AI innovation, automation, LLM capabilities, and engineering toolchains into business and productivity impact.
Requirements
- Minimum 7.5 years of experience in Java full-stack development.
- 15 years of full-time education.
- Strong object-oriented design and service-oriented architecture principles, preferably implemented in Java.
- Strong experience leading the architecture, design, and implementation of robust, highly scalable web services.
- Experience with AWS and/or Azure SaaS infrastructure, DevOps technologies, and extensive debugging.
- Understanding of unit, test-driven, functional, and performance testing.
- Experience building front ends with React is preferred.
- Knowledge of SQL, NoSQL, and data architecture.
- Experience integrating with event buses such as Pulsar and cloud-based big-data solutions such as Snowflake is preferred.
- Experience with software security-enhancing tools and best practices and at least one shell scripting language.
- Understanding of big-data and machine-learning technologies, LLMs, automation, and engineering toolchains.
- Proven experience in cloud, DevOps, or AI modernization initiatives.
- Ability to operate from business and product strategy through technical design and implementation.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, presentation, facilitation, decision-making, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Experience leading work, mentoring developers, working independently, and balancing short- and long-term product goals.
