Responsibilities
- Conduct primary and secondary research on generative AI, artificial general intelligence, and healthcare informatics technologies.
- Develop and improve generative AI models, architectures, databases, systems, LLMs, and ML tools for healthcare solutions.
- Support the establishment and maintenance of an Artificial Intelligence Governance Program.
- Create research papers, analytical reports, proposals, presentations, and educational materials.
- Collaborate with research and development, product management, strategic analyst, academic, vendor, and cross-functional teams.
- Support technology project coordination, vendor evaluations, partnerships, and academic corporate engagement initiatives.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing or recently completed an advanced degree in healthcare, technology, or a related field such as Biomedical Informatics or Computer Science; a PhD is preferred.
- Demonstrated interest or experience in AI, healthcare technology, or informatics research.
- Strong foundational knowledge of generative AI model development, architectures, and vector databases.
- Hands-on experience with machine learning and deep learning models.
- Hands-on experience with cloud services such as AWS or Azure, large datasets, and data pipelines for ML solutions.
- Experience with LLM/RAG models, LLM fine-tuning, vector embeddings, and vector databases is preferred.
- Ability to collaborate effectively and communicate with cross-functional teams.
Benefits
- Internship begins in Fall 2026 and offers a flexible assignment of 20–40 hours per week for a minimum of one semester up to one year.
- Interns must provide a dedicated, secure work area, high-speed internet connectivity, and office setup and maintenance.
- Nonexempt employees are eligible for overtime pay for hours worked over 40 per week, as required by applicable law.
