Base Salary
$157k - $215k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and delivery of secure, scalable, high-performing software solutions for complex business problems.
- Drive architecture and technical direction for resilient, available distributed systems and data-intensive services.
- Build AI-enabled applications using retrieval-augmented generation, agentic workflows, evaluation practices, and guardrails.
- Implement CI/CD automation, reliability patterns, infrastructure automation, and safe release practices.
- Mentor engineers through technical guidance, pairing, code reviews, and actionable feedback.
- Lead adoption of authorized AI-assisted engineering tools and establish validation standards for correctness, performance, security, and compliance.
- Create reusable AI agent skills, libraries, and engineering patterns that accelerate delivery across teams.
Requirements
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
- Hands-on experience designing and delivering scalable, secure, resilient distributed systems in production.
- Proficiency in Java and Spring Boot, with working knowledge of SQL and modern user interface frameworks such as React.
- Understanding of microservices, event-driven design, API-first architecture, API integration, REST, and GraphQL.
- Experience with public cloud platforms such as Amazon Web Services, Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure as Code.
- Experience leading the effective use of approved AI-assisted software development tools and validating their outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
- Knowledge of responsible AI practices, data sensitivity, secure input/output handling, resiliency, security, and compliant engineering adoption.
- Preferred: advanced object-oriented and system design, performance optimization, Elasticsearch, Oracle or MongoDB, generative AI, retrieval-augmented generation, LangChain, LlamaIndex, Databricks, and Kubernetes-based hybrid platforms.
