Responsibilities
- Evangelize offensive security findings and projects and collaborate with stakeholders to balance security with other priorities.
- Mentor and guide members of the Offensive Security team.
- Plan and execute long-term red team exercises simulating real-world attack scenarios.
- Perform threat modeling and penetration testing across applications, infrastructure, and corporate environments.
- Develop scripts and tools to automate security testing activities.
- Run adversarial simulations with detection and response teams to improve incident readiness.
- Communicate findings and partner with engineering teams to remediate identified risks.
- Lead security incidents resulting from penetration testing or red team findings.
- Plan and participate in adversarial simulation exercises with security teams.
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience conducting red team operations or advanced penetration testing.
- Experience mentoring or supporting the development of other security engineers.
- Demonstrated ability to challenge security assumptions and focus on fixing security issues.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills across technical and executive audiences.
- Familiarity with network protocols and standards including DNS and TCP/IP.
- Experience with macOS and Linux.
- Experience attacking companies through modern software development stacks, Kubernetes, Docker, AWS, and GCP, including providing hardening recommendations.
- Knowledge of defensive tools and techniques including IDS/IPS, packet capture, network analysis, antivirus, and EDR, including evasion techniques.
- Deep understanding of the MITRE ATT&CK Framework and strong understanding of access and identity security fundamentals.
- Ability to read and write Python, Go, and JavaScript.
- Ability to research and execute testing plans for new technologies or processes.
- Experience working with distributed teams and documenting technical details through Slack, JIRA Issues, GitHub issues, and email.
- Financial technology experience is a bonus.
- Experience serving as a technical lead is a bonus.
