Responsibilities

  • Lead cross-functional embedded software and firmware development across Embedded Linux and RTOS platforms.
  • Define and review software architecture, including partitioning, IPC, latency, update strategy, diagnostics, logging, and security boundaries.
  • Drive board bring-up and platform enablement through bootloader configuration, BSP integration, device tree, driver integration, and hardware-software debugging.
  • Lead software verification across unit, integration, system, and regression testing, including automation, coverage, and release criteria.
  • Manage requirements traceability, technical reviews, phase-gate deliverables, release packages, and VAVE documentation.
  • Lead defect triage and root-cause analysis for concurrency, timing, memory, and system-level issues.
  • Support prototypes, NPI builds, manufacturing tests, production releases, and field issues.
  • Mentor engineers and promote code reviews, coding standards, static analysis, documentation quality, and process improvement.
  • Represent the design organization with customers and stakeholders and provide technical estimates, risk assessments, and mitigation plans.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a closely related field.
  • Minimum 9–10 years of related experience and/or training.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience at a Senior Engineer level or equivalent.
  • Strong production embedded software or firmware delivery experience, including release management and post-release support.
  • Hands-on Embedded Linux experience, preferably including kernel configuration, device drivers, device tree, and Yocto/BitBake or Buildroot.
  • Hands-on experience with at least one RTOS, including scheduling, interrupts, synchronization primitives, and memory constraints.
  • Strong C/C++ skills for embedded systems; Python or shell scripting experience is a plus.
  • Proficiency with GDB, JTAG/SWD, crash dumps, logs, and trace analysis.
  • Experience with requirements management, traceability, software development tools, build systems, issue tracking, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Preferred experience includes U-Boot, OpenBMC or BIOS concepts, networking stacks, performance optimization, diagnostics, manufacturing test software, cybersecurity features, regulated environments, and mixed Linux/RTOS architectures.
