Responsibilities

  • Develop, test, debug, maintain, and enhance Java-based applications under the guidance of senior engineers.
  • Translate business and functional requirements into software solutions and contribute to technical design discussions.
  • Use Java, Spring, Spring Boot, REST APIs, SQL, and related technologies to develop application functionality.
  • Write maintainable, documented code and participate in unit testing, integration testing, troubleshooting, and defect resolution.
  • Develop and consume RESTful APIs and integrate applications with internal and external systems.
  • Support relational database access, application maintenance, production issues, deployment, documentation, and production support throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with software engineers, business analysts, QA engineers, DevOps engineers, and other project team members.
  • Participate in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, demonstrations, retrospectives, and ongoing professional development in secure coding, cloud, CI/CD, and DevSecOps practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 0–2 years of software development experience, including internships, academic projects, or professional experience.
  • Foundational experience with Java or another object-oriented programming language and understanding of object-oriented programming, data structures, and basic software development principles.
  • Preferred exposure to Spring, Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, or web application development.
  • Familiarity with relational databases, SQL, Git or another source-control system, and HTML, CSS, JavaScript, or other web technologies.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, problem-solving, written communication, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to learn new technologies and work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a clearance.
